We are talking about the Erasmus Plus youth exchange🇪🇺”ABC to volunteering” held in Croatia at the beginning of July 2023, which involved 5 Sardinian young people (coming from Mamoiada, Ovodda, Ollolai, San Nicolò Gerrei, San Basilio), and other Serbian, Croatian, Latvian and Portuguese guys.
After a week dedicated to the theme of volunteering, the participants returned home enthusiastic about the experience, in fact, here’s what they tell us:

“The experience in Croatia was full of surprises both in terms of culture and language but also for that of the people, in fact I didn’t expect that I would easily be able to make friends, and instead in the end I was talking to almost everyone. I want to recommend this type of experience to all because they are formative in every sense and also affordable for all. I thank the Malik association for this possibility and I hope to make another one as soon as possible.”

“The experience in Croatia was much more satisfying than my expectations. In just 7 days I realized how relating to foreign people is of great help in improving the language. I learned more these days in Croatia than in 10 years of school studying English. The presence of people from different countries in this experience meant that there was a need to speak English and sometimes even Spanish and the exchange of cultures was very nice. The youngsters, the organizers, and the group leaders helped me a lot to relate despite my English not being very good and this fact is very important because it shows that everyone is interested in the interraction. I made friends that I will surely never forget. If a similar opportunity will come again, I will do it without thinking twice.”

“I’ve taken other trips, but never one as distinctive as this one. I’ve come into contact with new cultures, new ways of thinking, different habits and so much more. I’ve had the opportunity to improve my language skills and especially I had a lot of fun. I recommend this kind of experience to everyone to learn more about the world and its diversity.”

“The trip to Croatia was an experience that introduced me to people of various nationalities who in turn explained their culture to me. Furthermore, the voluntary work we did for the village that hosted us, cleaning the beach and creating games for children have been very inspiring. I recommend this trip because it is an experience that opens your mind and helps you to know yourself and the environment around you.”
