In Greece for Social Inclusion

A week full of activities, cultural exchanges, and personal discoveries.

Participating in an Erasmus project is not just a learning opportunity but a journey of personal and cultural discovery.
Five young people experienced an intense week in Greece, immersed in educational and intercultural activities focused on social inclusion and refugee support. Through workshops, discussions, and shared moments, they were able to develop new skills, build deep connections, and broaden their worldview. Here, in their own words, is the story of this transformative experience.

  • Rosa:

“It’s hard to sum up in just a few lines everything that this short but intense experience has given me. Thanks to a non-formal educational approach, we were able to explore the different facets of the project’s theme (social inclusion in general and refugee inclusion specifically) in an extremely innovative and constructive way. The various activities allowed us to put ourselves in the shoes of those who, unfortunately, face discrimination on a daily basis. This opened our eyes to aspects we might have otherwise continued to overlook, helping us develop our empathy and problem-solving skills.
Moreover, sharing and comparing our perspectives with those of people from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds made everything even more stimulating and enriching.
All of this, combined with 24/7 coexistence and multicultural evenings filled with idioms, traditional food, and dancing, helped us forge deep bonds despite the short time we had. These are bonds I will never forget, and to this day, they make me feel truly enriched!”

  • Luca:

“This was my first Erasmus experience, and it was nothing short of amazing. I had the chance to travel to a new place, discover a new culture, explore new sites, traditions, and customs. What made it even more special was the group I was part of—Enrico, Diletta, Pasquale, and Rosa Maria—fantastic people with whom I shared unforgettable moments, full of lessons that truly warmed my heart!
It was also wonderful to meet young people from other countries, hear their stories full of meaning and depth, and learn about their cultures, food, dances, and songs! Not to mention the group work, where we exchanged ideas, personal views, and experiences, especially regarding the topics we addressed.
In short, it was a magical experience in the beautiful city of Kastoria. A week is too short, especially when spent with such amazing people. I hope to have the chance to experience something like this again!”

  • Diletta:

“For me, it was an educational, dynamic, and engaging experience. After the first moments of adaptation, with the usual logistical challenges, I quickly got used to this new and stimulating reality. Surprisingly, even sharing was both intriguing and revealing.
I returned home feeling recharged from the joyful evenings, fascinated by other cultures, and grateful for the wonderful new friendships I made. It was an intense week in which each of us felt valued in every way. A journey to be repeated.”

  • Pasquale:

“Since this was my very first Erasmus+ project, my expectations were fairly moderate. I didn’t know what to expect or who I would be spending a week of my life with. But now that I’m back home, I can say that it was truly an amazing experience. I met so many fantastic people with whom I shared unforgettable moments.
Beyond that, it was a very interesting project where we had the chance to discuss current issues. Even when our opinions differed, we always managed to find common ground, which is never something to take for granted.
As my final words, I just want to say thank you to everyone for this experience! And to those who haven’t participated in an Erasmus yet—think about it! I promise you’ll have an incredible week. As for me, I can’t wait to join more projects!”

  • Enrico:

“I joined this project as a tutor for a seven-day Erasmus in Greece—an experience that turned out to be incredibly educational and enriching. During this week, I had the opportunity to work with young people from different countries, each with their own unique story, culture, and perspectives. The main theme of the program was refugee support, a topic that deeply resonated with all of us and pushed us to reflect on the role each of us can play in helping those in need.
The days were packed with educational and interactive activities that allowed us to explore the reality of refugees, their daily challenges, and possible solutions to foster integration. Through discussions, workshops, and group reflections, I gained a deeper understanding of this issue and developed new skills in the field of social support.
This experience was not only an opportunity for academic growth but also for personal development. I learned to challenge myself, communicate with people from different cultures, and work in an international team—all of which greatly enriched my worldview.
Additionally, thanks to this experience, I created a new ‘Erasmus family.’ The friendships I formed with participants from all over Europe became more than just simple connections; they turned into deep bonds based on shared values, experiences, and dreams.
It was incredible to realize that, despite our differences, there is always something that unites us—and that is the true beauty of an Erasmus experience.
In conclusion, this Erasmus in Greece was much more than just a trip or an academic course. It was a real adventure that taught me to see the world through different eyes and understand how important it is to be engaged in helping others. The family I built during this week is a bond I will carry with me for a lifetime.”
